Related Coverage • • • CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) — A former teacher for Vista Ridge High School has been arrested on accusations he had an improper relationship with a student. Cedar Park police have identified the teacher as Ian J. According to the Leander Independent School District, Edgeley was arrested by Cedar Park police for having a relationship with a Vista Ridge High School student. “It’s kind of creepy, it’s weird,” says Vista Ridge High School student Kevin McCalmon. The district was notified of the relationship by Edgeley’s wife this past June. Police say Edgeley told his wife in May he was having an affair with the 18-year-old student.
Working with the LISD, police searched Edgeley’s computer and found nude pictures of the victim confirming their inappropriate relationship. Investigators also uncovered intimate conversations between him and the student. They say the two communicated on Twitter. Police say they have reason to believe Edgeley has had other relationships with students at LISD and Round Rock High School during his time as a teacher. “If there is a victim out there, we’re hoping that through the source of media that we’re going to be able to reach them and that they’re willing to come forward and share their story with us.” says Sgt.

“Like I don’t feel safe when I would come (to school),” says Vista Ridge High School student Dylan Martinez. “They’re supposed to be like you know, keep us safe and not do that stuff,” says McCalmon. He was booked at the Harris County Jail and then transported to the Williamson County Jail where he faces felony charges.
