I have a pseries p570 taht I have connected a Quantum/ATL Superloader 3 to. The system recognizes the tape drive but not the changer mechanism. I have tried loading the Atape package but the system still does not recognize the changer. When I run cfgmgr I get the error: cfgmgr: 0514-621 WARNING: The following device packages are required for device support but are not currently installed. Devices.scsi As near as I can tell I have all of the SCSI device drivers available installed. Is there a device driver available that will allow me to control this changer. We have our own data management system that talks to media changers directly and cannot use a commercial package. Ism Software For Marathi Typing.
What OS/maint level are you? It's possible that the changer was not supported in the version of AIX you are running. Os AIX 5.3 ML3. I would think the changer is supported but not sure.
